Unicorns are waiting here to get some color: with a rainbow, with a flower crown, as a foal, asleep on a cloud and many more. All as PDF in A4, free and without signing up.

Unicorns are such rewarding coloring pages because they come with almost no rules. A horse has to look brown or grey to read as right. A unicorn is allowed to be turquoise, with a pink mane and a golden horn, and nobody can call that wrong. That is exactly what takes the fear out of the first color decision for younger children.

The designs span three levels. Easy ones have large areas and thick outlines and work from age three. Medium ones have a mane, hooves and some background, right for preschool and the first school years. Detailed ones carry patterned manes and fine ornaments that keep adults busy for a while too.

One tip for the result: the mane looks better if you color it in strands rather than as one area. Two or three related colors side by side are enough.

More to color

When the unicorns are finished: the Horse get more realistic, Mermaid and Princess stay in the same fairytale world. If you want something calmer, the Mandala offer the same playful character, only geometric.

Our coloring tip

Pick two or three colors for the mane before you start. That gives you a harmonious gradient without having to plan every shade individually.
